Sharing God's grace to walk in fullness of identity and power

About

Bas Avatar Big Rounded CornI’m Bas. I am an educator, speaker and blogger.

I help motivated Christians learn how to walk in fullness of identity and power so they can live in joyful freedom, have meaningful influence, and fulfill their dream with passion.

As a result, I write on identity (who you are), inheritance (what you have), and influence (what you can do).

Jesus Christ and His finished work has a central place in my writing and teaching. I’m a big fan and promoter of the simple Gospel:

  • Jesus + something = nothing
  • Jesus + nothing = everything

If you have a desire to make a lasting impact in the world by understanding God’s grace and live from your divine identity, walk in confidence and operate in God’s supernatural power, this site is for you!

I am not who I thought I was. I had wrong mindsets of beliefs which made my life not as free as it could have been. Through Bas’ teaching I realize that I am a new creation and pure, holy and righteous in God’s eyes. This understanding frees me up in so many ways that I can experience God in a whole new level. It’s like a start of a whole new adventure for me. I always wanted to live life to the fullest with God. Now I realize it is possible because of the finished work of the cross. I can live a fully free and satisfying life. – Rebecca Napier, England

About me

After I graduated from the University of Utrecht with a masters in Environmental Science I moved to Amsterdam to do a DiscipleshipTraining School with Youth With A Mission (YWAM), an international missions organisation.

I’ve worked for ten years as a missionary with YWAM to help young people find their identity and destiny. Once I lead a group of students on a missions trip to Indonesia with a peculiar girl from Kansas City. An undying affection started brewing in our hearts. Friendship developed into romance, and a year later in April 2008 we married.

Family PicI live with my wife Michelle, our daughther Anouk and our son Lennon in Amsterdam. Currently I work as a missionary with different organisations and churches to make Jesus visible in the world. I am part of a company of preachers and practitioners who help transform people’s lives through declaring and demonstrating God’s grace and power.

The reason why I exist is:

  • To enjoy Sonship
  • To establish a healthy Family
  • To communicate Grace in word and deed

In my free time I enjoy reading, running, family, and drinking black coffee with friends.

My struggle and victory

For many years I dreamed to work miracles and change the world. I wanted to live the prophetic words spoken out over my life. I wanted to make a lasting impact on people’s lives, but I didn’t see much happen. Why?

Due to a performance (law)-based mentality I was:

I grew up with a mixture of Grace and Law. A deadly cocktail. Mixing Grace with Law is like drinking wine with rat poisoning. It kills your faith. Therefore, I didn’t experience the fullness of God’s love and power.

I’ve been awakened to God’s unconditional love by drinking the wine of the New Covenant of Grace that contains every divine pleasure and started to walk in fullness of sonship and operate in God’s supernatural power.

I regularly see people get saved, healed and delivered by God’s power working through me and others.

Realizing what Jesus did on the cross has set me free to be who I am called to be and to do all I am called to do.

Now I help Christians to walk in fullness of identity and power so that they can achieve their God-given dreams and maximize their impact.

Here’s some feedback on my teaching:

I am a critical, cynical, and hard to please case Bas, but you my friend have it all. Brilliant teacher and super articulate attention holder. The more I learn from you the lighter I get. – Jeffrey Dunnage

Bas, you are a wonderful teacher of the Gospel! Messages short, sweet and packed with truth! – Claudine Gimonet

What others are saying

Here is some love from a few people:

I have been a Christian for most of my life. Why have I never heard this before? It has truly liberated me from fear and condemnation. — DTS student, England

I never understood why people would want to die for the Gospel. I know it sounds big, but now, after I’ve heard the true Gospel explained in this week’s teaching, I can say that I am willing to die for the Gospel!  — Carla, Germany

Now I understand what Christianity is all about. — Phil, Aruba

This teaching has given me so much peace and freedom. I didn’t know the truth of our identity in Christ was that simple, yet so profound. — Patrick, the Netherlands

I’ve heard many times about the importance of Jesus’ work on the cross, but now I really understand it in my heart and not just with my head. It was like, “Wow, I get.” A veil has been lifted and the Word of God has become more accessible to me.  — Jeroen, the Netherlands

Now I know that I know, who I am in Christ. Thank you so much for sharing your insights and revelation with us. It has changed me forever. I am ruined for the ordinary. — DTS student, U.S.A.

Are you ok brother Rijksen? I just seen your videos on Youtube and joined your site. But I see you haven’t had any activity in about 2 years.

  6. Hello, Bas. I came across your video this morning about how to lead someone to Christ. Just as you explained. It just so happens that very soon I will drive to Gilroy, California in hopes of leading my friend to Christ. She feels like killing herself and she no longer wants to live because she lost her husband and very beloved son, the only precious people in her life. I have been talking to her about Jesus, that He as a plan and purpose for her life. So consequently, I am struggling with how to lead her to Christ, what I will say and how to present Him to her. Have been looking up the Bible verses you said. I like how you explained it. That love comes first, but I am certainly not the best at doing that. Thank you for your video. I really needed to hear it today.
